D2 A8/S8 FL Steering Rack (rebuilt unit) completely rebuilt with new inner tie rods.

(without servotronic control valve) – you need to transfer this from your existing rack.

Core charge is  an additional $250 unless you have sent us your core in advance.

 

This is a refundable core charge to assure the return of your old steering rack when we send out a rebuilt one.  The rack needs to be rebuildable.  Bent tie rods, missing fluid lines, severe corrosion, etc. will incur a charge.  Otherwise the $250 will be refunded in full. It is the customer's responsibility to properly package their core to ensure it arrives safely. Customers have 30 days from the date their original purchase shipped out to return their core for a refund.

    I installed this rack in my 2001 S8 over the weekend. My old rack was leaking out both ends. New one is a huge improvement. Obviously no leaks, but feels much smoother. The steering also feels more direct. The power steering pump whine that my car had also seems to be quieter. This product is a life saver for these older cars as the factory rack is NLA from Audi since 2020 and no one has rebuilds for sale despite what their websites may have listed).
